Mr. Gordon, you took the time to thank each and everyone that endorsed your vision of this POWERFUL radio station, by personally responding to the emails sent when you were fighting for this station(thanks). I will forever cherish this, knowing that you value each and everyone in the community that stood united with you. We will continue this love, drive and passion with God's presence in the mix through G98.7 FM (Gordon) family.
Your spirit was ever present at the appreciation and celebration of your life at the JCA...I think you were just smiling downing seeing us all united in love.
I pray for our family's continued strength, and the staff at G98.7 FM.
THANK YOU!
Ann

RIP Mr Gordon you accomplished so much in your lifetime and were one of my inspirations to never give up on following my heart and your dreams you taught me the importance of being resourceful and having “GRIT”
In the conversation we had outside in the parking lot of our Townhouse complex one day back in the early 2000 ‘s when my car was giving problems after some advice on where to try taking it to get fixed in town where you also took your bmw for similar issues ..you told me about being a radio DJ named Dr Love I told you that I had listened to you before but asked why you are on so late as well as other black DJ’s I know ..you told me that’s what you are trying to change ..you then told me about your dream to own a Black and Caribbean owned radio station and the struggles you had went through on that day you told me how you were gonna keep applying until you get it approved because you felt it was needed for our community..in that conversation you also encouraged me to never give up and keep striving to achieve my goals as struggling single mother ..years later after returning to school and attending more college then university courses in social service work I remembered your words of encouragement to me and this particular sociology term GRIT is the best way I can describe how you inspired me ...
Growth Mindset ( you never stopped setting goals and reaching higher in your career)
R- Resilience ( when one door closes you still keep knocking on others )
I-Intuition ( use common sense but
follow your mind and passion)
T- Tenacity (Never ever let anyone tell you that you can’t achieve your goals )
Thank you Mr Gordon you are one of my personal mentors ..it’s been years since I’ve seen you and only briefly spoke to congratulate you once on a call in episode of grapevine where callers had To sing something ..which I sang a Whitney Houston song ..but ironically your radio station also helped launch my daughter Adria Kain ’s career to another level of success. (who used to sometimes play basketball , hide and seek or tag with your sons as kids in that same townhouse complex ) Also once or twice every year for last 6 years I’ve been at your station to collect various prizes won during on air contests to some amazing events or movies so I am eternally grateful to you , and all your hard work has been a blessing to me personally and so many . RIP knowing that all whose lives you touched especially those in the black community in the GTA and Toronto will continue to pass the torch in your memory . Thank you again for being a good neighbour my condolences to your sons , entire family , close friends and colleagues.

My deepest condolences on the loss of Mr. G. When one had such a platform, we all believed that he belonged to all of us and we miss him deeply but I cannot even begin to comprehend what you all as his wife, children and extended family must be feeling and so I send my deepest thoughts. I hold fond personal memories of the many times I was invited to Grapevine as a guest host to speak on topics that matters in the Black Community. Mr. G was generous when it came to giving our people a voice. He will be missed and again, you're all in my thoughts and prayers. God continue to uphold you all!

Sincere condolences to the family and friends of our dearly departed Fitzroy Anthony "Mr. G" Gordon, founder of Canada’s only Black and Caribbean owned and operated radio station G98.7FM.
We mourn his loss with his wife Marvette, the staff of G98.7FM, listeners and supporters, and all the "G Family" in the communities of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, Canada, the Caribbean and around the world.
Do take solace in the self-evident truth that "when someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure" and "death ends a life, not a relationship".
May God grant peace to the departed soul and strength to the family members to bear the loss.
In Sorrow

I remember the happy memories listening to Dr. Love on the radio as a teenager. Fast forward to my adult years the voice of Mr. G was both nostalgic and empowering for me. He ran his race, he left us as stewards and stewardesses, he believed in the community so let's keep his legacy alive. I will always love you Dr. Love.
