Obituary of David Glenville McRae
MCRAE, David Glenville-It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David Glenville McRae on December 2, 2019 at the age of 51 after a hard fought battle with cancer. He passed peacefully at Michael Garron Hospital in Toronto, Ontario surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife Chermaine and his daughter Gabrielle; his mother Yvonne Forbes, his aunt Isolyn McRae, his brother Paul and his wife Stephanie and their children Olivia and Joshua; his brother Randy and his son Kaynan; his brother Colin and his children Collette, Colleen, and JD, his brother Kirk and his daughter Aaliyah, his sisters Anthea and Paula; along with many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Dave was born in 1968 in Montego Bay, Jamaica and lived there until he was 12 years old before immigrating to Canada with his younger brother Paul McRae, where they grew up with their Aunt Isolyn McRae in Kingston, Ontario. Dave met his wife Chermaine McRae while living in Montreal, Quebec, and married her in 2010. In 2011 they moved to Toronto, Ontario. Their daughter Gabrielle was born in 2013. Dave had a variety of interests, which included cooking, religion, history, music, sports, and fashion. He loved to cook, and even while he was in the hospital in his last weeks of life he spoke of wanting to take culinary courses at one of the colleges in the city. Dave was a loving husband, father, brother and friend to many. His positive, outgoing, caring and loving self are missed by so many.
A celebration of life service will be held on Monday December 16, 2019, at Toronto East Seventh-day Adventist Church, 4548 Sheppard Ave. East. Scarborough, ON. Viewing will be held from 10:00 A.M until service time at 11:00 A.M. Burial to follow at Duffin Meadows Cemetery 2505 Brock Road North, Pickering, ON.
