Obituary of Carmena Georgiana Nibbs

NIBBS, Mrs. Carmena Georgiana: It is with with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Mrs. Carmena Nibbs announces her passing. She left us peacefully during the early morning of May 31st, 2021 in Toronto, Canada. Carmena was born in the beautiful village of Sea View Farm on the island of Antigua W.I., She is predeceased by her husband, Ahijah Nibbs. Carmena is the cherished and adored mother of 8 children; Gwendolyn Guishard, Jennifer Watts, Esselyn Williams,Janis Edwards, Geraldine Nibbs-Phillip, Irma Nibbs-Gregory, Colin Nibbs and Lyndon Nibbs. She will forever be loved and remembered by her 22 grandchildren,19 great-grandchildren, 3 great great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sons and daughters in-law, cousins, God children and many other relatives and friends. Mother Nibbs will be greatly missed by her church family, both at the New Dawn Moravian Church in Toronto, Canada, and the Lebanon Moravian Church in Sea View Farm, Antigua. Viewing will be held on Thursday 10th, June 2021 from 1:00pm-7:00pm at Covenant Funeral Home, 2505 Eglinton Ave E. Scarborough, Ontario M1K 2R1. As per the directives issued by the province, there must not be more than 10 people (excluding funeral home staff) in the building or congregated outside. Due to the current Covid protocols her life will be celebrated with a private funeral on Friday 11th, June 2021. The funeral services can be viewed from the comfort of your own home via livestream on both the Covenant Funeral Homes Facebook and Youtube pages. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to New Dawn Moravian Church Toronto or The Lebanon Moravian Church, Sea View Farm Antigua. The family wishes to thank each and everyone who has communicated their condolences. Carmena will be greatly missed, but we are thankful that God graciously blessed her with 100 years of life.
