Obituary of Francis Alphanso Waithe

Obituary For Francis Alphanso Waithe 1947 - 2022 It is with profound sadness, love and grief that we announce the passing of Francis Waithe of Brampton, Ontario, Canada, at the age o 75 years. Francis was born in Guyana, South America and immigrated to Canada in 1975 after serving many years in the Guyana Police Force. Life ended rather suddenly in the Brampton Civic Hospital where he took his last breath in the early morning of August 17. He is predeceased by his mother and father, Valdrina and Francis Waithe as well as his sister Joy Robertson. Francis leaves behind his wife Haliman Rodrigues-Waithe, his three children: Gairy, Marvel and Alisha Waithe along with six grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brothers- Dr. Kenrick Waithe, Dennis Waithe and George Waithe; and sisters - Megan Bynoe, Myrna (Sandrine) Alves, and Bernadette Daw. Too numerous to mention are the names of his many nieces and nephews, grandchildren, in-laws and other family members on his wife's side, as well as in the Waithe's family circle. Francis was an avid cricketer and sports enthusiast who loved people, was exceedingly friendly, enjoyed a good drink, cooking and gardening. He worked in many businesses but spent the most significant part of his working life at the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General as a Court Services Officer where he served for approximately twenty four years and built many enduring friendships. Francis' body is now at Covenant Funeral Home, 2505 Eglinton Avenue E where a Viewing will take place on Friday, August 26 from 2pm-7pm with strict COVID protocol in place. Friends and family are also welcome to join in a celebration of Francis' life at Kennedy Church of the Nazarene, 661 Kennedy Road, Scarborough, on Saturday, August 27 with strict COVID protocols in place. Prior to the church service, there will be another Viewing from 10am to 11 am followed by the Funeral Service at 11am Burial will be at Pine Hills Cemetery, 625 Birchmount Road which is approximately 5-10 minutes from the Church.
